Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to begin a state visit to Moscow on Monday, in an apparent show of support for Russian President Vladimir Putin as his war against Ukraine struggles to achieve its objectives. China has put forward its own peace plan but has disappointed European leaders by failing to condemn Russia's aggression.
