US President delivers State of the Union address to Congress

United States President Joe Biden is delivering his first major speech to a divided Congress after Republicans took control of the House of Representatives. Biden urges Republican 'friends' to work with him. Presidents are required to deliver the State of the Union address every year. Biden is promotes his record, including infrastructure and spending laws he signed, in the speech. Newly elected Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Vice President Kamala Harris will stand behind Biden during the address. The speech comes amid low unemployment but persisting concerns over inflation.
