Worst earthquake in decades rocks Turkey, Syria | DW News

A powerful earthquake has hit a wide area along the Turkish-Syrian border. Hundreds of people have been killed and the death toll continues to rise. The magnitude 7.8 tremor was centered north of the Turkish city of Gaziantep. It's caused destruction stretching all along Turkey's southern border, from the Mediterranian eastwards. Rescue operations are just beginning.
