Experimental Alzheimer's treatment slows cognitive decline, 'but it doesn't stop' the disease
An experimental Alzheimer's drug from Eisai and Biogen slowed cognitive decline in a closely watched trial but may carry a risk of serious side effects for certain patients, according to detailed data presented on Tuesday. For more on the antibody medication Lecanemab, FRANCE 24 is joined by Dr. Nicolas Villain, Neurologist and Researcher at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris. Dr. Villain describes the treatment as "a first step" as it doesn't bring cognitive decline to a complete halt.
