🇺🇸🇸🇾 US senator links Trump troop withdrawal to deadly ISIL attack | Al Jazeera English

A senior US senator has questioned President Donald Trump's troop withdrawal announcement from Syria after four Americans were killed in a suicide attack by the armed group ISIL.

Republican Lindsay Graham, a Trump ally, blamed Wednesday's attack in the northern Syrian city of Manbij on the president's decision to quickly pull US forces out of the war-torn country.

Graham has also repeated a warning to Saudi Arabia over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The senator said that Saudi Arabia's ties with US can not progress until the murder is properly dealt with.
