Marking 75 years of independence India's Prime Minister Narandra Modi pledged to turn the country into a developed nation in the next 25 years. India in the past managed to launch itself and parts of its 1.4 billion people into the ranks of leading countries in IT, pharmacy, space science and civil nuclear energy.
