Author Salman Rushdie has been attacked on stage

Author of 'The Satanic Verses,' Salman Rushdie attacked on stage during a New York event. Salman Rushdie was forced into hiding in 1989 following death threats over his works. Iran Ayatollah Khomeini called for Rushdie's assassination branding his work 'blasphemous.'
