Political upheaval in Israel: The system is 'totally stuck and it will not be changed in November'

Israeli lawmakers voted to dissolve parliament following the collapse of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's ruling coalition, opening the way for a Nov. 1 election that will be Israel's fifth in less than four years. Bennett will stand down at midnight to be replaced by his coalition partner, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, who will lead the government during what is expected to be a bitter election battle with opposition leader and ex-premier Benjamin Netanyahu. For further analysis of the political upheaval in Israel and the Jewish country's endless election cycle, FRANCE 24 is joined by Gideon Levy, Author, Journalist and Board Member of Haaretz. "Right now, I don't see anyone breaking this status quo," explains Mr. Levy, "and in this case we will face more of the same."
