UN calls on Israel to end Palestinian displacements after eviction of family

The UN Middle East peace envoy Tor Wennesland demanded Wednesday that Israeli authorities end the displacement of Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem. Wennesland's call at a UN Security Council briefing came after Israeli forces demolished a Palestinian home earlier Wednesday that is at the centre of an anti-expulsion campaign in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. The UN's Middle East envoy is warning that forcible displacement, demolitions and settlement activity are weakening prospects for peace. Al Jazeera's James Bays reports from the UN.
