Deadly Beirut Clashes : Opposition groups no longer 'intimidated by Hezbollah'

Carol Malouf, a journalist based in Beirut, joins France 24 to offer perspective and in-depth analysis on the deadly clashes that have rocked Beirut. The disturbing images have 'brought back flashbacks from the (civil) war,' Ms. Malouf explains, but something new is at play. "What is extremely significant about this is that the opposition groups don't seem to be scared or intimidated by Hezbollah's military presence. They seem like they are fighting back and this has caused many casualties within Hezbollah's ranks.' If you look at it from a 'political perspective,' observes Ms. Malouf, 'this is the first time in decades that we've seen such emboldened moves by the Sunnis, the Druids, and the Christians over the past three months.'
