Upcycling the durian: Pungent fruit’s husk used to make bandages

The durian is a fruit with a strong smell but it is loved by many in Southeast Asia. Now, a team of scientists in Singapore is finding new ways to make use of it, to tackle food waste. The scientists are turning durian husks into bandages that they say are cheaper to produce and biodegradable.
