Germany elections 2021: Opinions shift in Bavaria

On Sunday, Germans will head to the polls in a vote that will mark the end of Angela Merkel's German chancellorship. For most of the last 40 years, the Christian Democrats (CDU) and its Bavarian sister party the Christian Socialist Union (CSU) have dominated German politics. But that may now be changing as even reliably conservative Bavaria is leaning away from the CDU/CSU.
