Japan to release treated radioactive water from Fukushima disaster into the sea

Japan has approved a plan to release more than a million tonnes of contaminated water from the destroyed Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea. The government says the water will be treated and diluted so the radiation levels are below those set for drinking water, but the move has enraged both environmental activists and the local fishing industry, sparking protests.
