India suffers record new Covid cases with some hospitals overwhelmed - BBC News

In India a second wave of Covid has led to a record level of new cases, with more than 150,000 infections registered in a single day.

The state of Maharashtra, whose capital is the financial centre of Mumbai, is the worst affected, with some hospitals overwhelmed.
