Farmers advocate for more investment from Government to boost sector | Business Dashboard

The peasant farmers association has complained of a lack of government investment in local rice production despite a vigorous campaign in December last year.

According to the farmers, a number of farmers who have taken up rice production cannot afford the high cost of harvesting their rice resulting in them losing their investments.

In an interview with Citi Business News, Head of Programs and Advocacy for the Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana, Charles Nyaaba appealed to the government to subsidize the cost of combine harvesters as well as ensure a ready market for rice for farmers.
