Everyone knows the analogy. Throw a frog into boiling water and it jumps right out. But place it in a pot of cool water and slowly raise the heat— the frog won't know what happened until it's too late. Experts on U.S. policing say that when it comes to the widespread militarization of domestic law enforcement, the American people are the frog. And those police dressed up as soldiers who have been beating, gassing and shooting rubber bullets at protesters nationwide this year? That's the pot bubbling.
