Coronavirus: lockdown extended as rising deaths to continue for weeks to come - BBC News

The coronavirus lockdown is set to continue for weeks with the government ruling out any relaxation for now. It comes ahead of the Easter weekend with people being urged to remain at home. Senior scientific advisers have warned that deaths in the UK will continue to rise for “a few weeks”. The latest figures show almost 8,000 people have now died of coronavirus in hospital in the UK. Meanwhile the Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been moved out of intensive care and back to a regular hospital ward where he will continue to be treated for Covid-19.
