Homelessness In Berlin | Dw Documentary
Anyone walking through Berlin today is confronted with the reality of the city's housing crisis. More than 50,000 people currently lack a permanent place to call home. The reasons for this reality vary from poverty and sudden eviction to personal misfortune, debt, or addiction. While some find temporary shelter in emergency housing, around 6,000 individuals are left to survive entirely on the streets, setting up makeshift beds under bridges or in parks. But behind these staggering statistics are human beings who refuse to be defined solely by their circumstances.
