Victims Of Spiking Speak Out | Dw Documentary
Spiking is the act of giving someone a sedative substance without their knowledge or consent. The victims lose control over their bodies and often suffer memory blackouts. Afterwards, the substances can be difficult to trace in the body, but researchers are working to improve detection methods.
The most used substance for spiking is alcohol. Then there are party drugs, sedatives and sleeping pills. Many victims are left feeling shame or fear they won't be taken seriously. As a result, countless cases go unreported.
