Around 2600 BCE, one of the world's earliest civilisations built something truly extraordinary. Mohenjo-daro was one of the best-preserved cities of its age anywhere in the world. Its carefully planned streets, advanced drainage systems and vast network of wells helped protect its people from disease, revealing a level of urban engineering far ahead of its time.
