The Forgotten Flight Of 1783 | Bbc Timestamp

In November 1783, two daring volunteers soared into the sky, becoming the first humans to view Earth from above. Each year, in the French town of Annonay, descendants of the Montgolfier family, renowned paper makers, commemorate this historic leap with a launch of the world's first hot air balloon, originally crafted from paper.

This clip traces the balloon's humble beginnings and the fascinating evolution of the power behind human flight.

This clip is from 'The Story of Science: Power, Proof and Passion' (2010)
