Accompanying A Nomad Doctor In Mongolia | Dw Documentary

She comes by horse, camel or reindeer – Doctor Shurentsetseg is on call, ready at any time. Her mission is to keep nomads in Mongolia healthy. Whether it's a toothache, child's illness, or any other health issue, Shurentsetseg Ganbold travels out to nomads to offer them medical assistance. Her husband supports her work by staying at home with their 3 young children, and occasionally drives her to her destination – if it's possible. Her story is one of an unceasing fighter, who herself also grew up in a nomad family. As an adult, she went on to study medicine and now doesn't just take care of her family, but also works to keep nomadism alive in her country.
