Katja's Corona Diary | Dw Documentary

Katja Alekseev lives with a condition that causes her muscles to waste away. That also affects her breathing, placing her in the high-risk group. The coronavirus would likely pose a far greater danger to her life and health than to those of others.

An infection with the coronavirus could be life-threatening to Katja, as could any kind of lung inflammation. Now, the 30-year-old Cologne resident hardly ever leaves her home. She even suffers panic attacks over the prospect. But she can't isolate herself entirely. Katja depends on help from assistants to manage her daily life. She can't avoid contact with them. For several weeks, Katja chronicled her life in a vlog or video diary and talked about her fears and concerns.
