REPORT: President Cup Replay Likely To Be Rescheduled

Information reaching Modernghana Sports indicates that the 2019 President Cup replay between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko is likely to be pushed to another date.

The match was initially played on September 8 but was brought to an abrupt end following heavy rains that left the pitch of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium water-soaked.

It was later pushed to Sunday, December 15, 2019, but according to reports being picked up today, the game will need to be postponed for the second time.

The move has become necessary due to the state of the Accra Sports Stadium pitch which was used over the weekend for the Cardi B concert.

It is understood that the grass has suffered a great deal and needs to be worked on extensively to get it back into a state that will be friendly for a football match.

In line with that, the organizers of this year’s President Cup are considering rescheduling the meeting between the two most glamorous clubs in the country.

It is likely the game will be moved back to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to be played on December 22, 2019.
