Revealed: Clubs Ghanaian players would face in UEFA Europa League group stage

There is, of course, a Ghanaian interest in this season’s Europa League group stage as six players would be part of the campaign

Following the 2019-20 season of the Uefa Europa League group stage draw on Friday, six Ghanaian players will be in action.

Former Wafa striker Samuel Tetteh will feature for LASK in Group D as they battle Sporting CP, PSV, and Rosenberg, while Caleb Ekuban represents Trabzonspor in Group C which comprises Spanish side Gatefe, Basel and Krasnodar.

Ekuban bagged hat-trick in the qualifiers to help Trabzonsor reach this stage amid a late scare from their opponents.

Also, in Group I, Nana Kwesi Asare and Elisha Owusu will play for Gent against Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, Saint Ethiene and Olenxandriya while former AshantiGold defender Kadri Mohammed is expected to help Dynamo Kyiv to book a place in the next round.

The Ukrainian side have been paired with Copenhagen, Malmo, and Lugano in Group B.

Also, Abraham Frimpong and his Ferencvaros side will square it off with CSKA Mosco, Espanyol, and Ferencvaros in Group H.

The first group games are expected to take place on September 19 while the second game is billed for October 3.
