NC SPECIAL COMPETITION: Elmina Sharks Shock WAFA At Home With 1-0 Victory

Elmina Sharks has shocked West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) at their home grounds in Sogakope by beating them 1-0 on match week 12 of the GFA Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

The academy side who are known for their home invincibility could not stand the might of the Sharks as they were tamed in front of their home fans on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.

A 58th-minute goal from George Amoono made the difference from the away side who matched their opponent 'boot for boot' to ensure they did not have the free spaces to operate.

This is the first time WAFA has been beaten at home in the ongoing NC Special Competition. The result means the Sogakope side is in danger of being booted out of the competition following their poor run of form recently which has left them 5th on the Premier A table.

They are 6 points adrift Hearts of Oak who currently occupied top spot in the division following their 1-0 win over Karela United today.

Sharks, who are 4th on the log are on the same points with WAFA and needs to build on today’s crucial victory going into the final two matches of the preliminary round of the competition.
