NC SPECIAL COMPETITION: Hearts Beat Dwarfs 2-1 To Remain Top Of Premier B

Accra Hearts of Oak has recorded an important 2-1 victory over Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs to remain top of the Premier B division of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

Facing off in a match week 11 fixture, the Phobians had to work tirelessly for the results especially after going behind to the Dwarfs as early as the 5th minute in the first half.

Albert Hammond connected to an inviting cross from the right to head home the only goal for the home side. The Rainbow boys did however not back down as they pushed to find the equalizer to bring them level.

Their effort was rewarded on the 17th minute when danger man Joseph Esso was brought down in the penalty area. Defender Christopher Bonney stepped up and expertly converted the spot kick to restore parity.

A couple of changes to the attacking department of Hearts yielded results just five minutes into the second half. This time around it was Bonney who assisted teenage sensation Umar Manaf to slot home the winning goal.

The resilient Kim Grant side managed the remaining minutes of play to eventually amass all three points. By virtue of the results, the Accra based side is still top of the standings with 22 points after playing 11 matches.

In-form Karela United follows suit in 2nd position and just a point behind the leaders.
