Kotoko Deny Assigning Psychologist To Work On Sogne Yacouba

Sogne Yacouba

Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has not assigned a Psychologist to Sogne Yacouba to help revive his goal scoring form, Greater Accra Representative of the club Edmund Ackah has stated.

Edmund Ackah’s clarification comes on the back of media reports this week that had suggested that the club has appointed a personal psychologist to help the striker get over his goal scoring drought.

The Burkinabe striker seems to have lost his scoring boots after he returned from his injury in the later part of December 2018. Since that time he has failed to find the back of the net in the last three competitive matches he has played for the club in the CAF Confederations Cup competition.

The situation has become worrying for fans of the club owing to the fact that he was red hot in terms of scoring goals for the Porcupine Warriors prior to their decision to partake in this year’s continental competition.

Speaking to Kumasi based radio station, Sika FM, Edmund Ackah stressed that Yacouba do not need a Psychologist and they have not assigned one to him as been speculated.

“Management of Kotoko haven't appointed any personal psychologist for Yacouba. We have a psychologist called Caleb Adams. He is there for all the players”.

“Sogne Yacouba doesn't need personal psychologist. We haven't detailed our psychologist for him”, Kotoko’s Greater Accra representative said.

Next on Kotoko’s calendar they will be playing host to Cameroonian giants Coton Sport Garoua at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium this Sunday, January 20 for the second leg encounter in a bid to qualify to the group stage of this year’s CAF Confederations Cup Competition.

Kotoko already hold the advantage as far as the tie is concerned having already won the first leg in Cameroon last weekend by three goals to two. Coach CK Akonnor and his charges will be hoping do the double over their opponents at the end of the match day.
