AWCON 2018: Priscilla Okyere Says Mali Is No Match To Black Queens

Priscilla Okyere has insisted that Mali is no threat to the Black Queens as the two teams prepare to square off in the second group game at the ongoing African Women’s Cup of Nations on Tuesday.

The Black Queens could qualify for the semi-finals with a win against the Malians, after beating Algeria 1-0 in their opening game on Saturday.

Mali, on the other hand, could be crashed out of the competition should they lose to the Queens, after suffering a painful defeat on the opening day at the hands of Cameroon. Priscilla Okyere

“Mali is a good side. We’ve watched them during the WAFU tournament, and played against them two years ago in Cameroon, where they gave us a tough first half, but we still emerged 3-1 winners,” she said.

“So Mali are not a threat to Ghana. As you saw in our last game, we created a lot of chances but were unable to finish them, but against Mali will be different. We will create a lot and utilize them.”

Kick off for the game is 15:30GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
