Referees end three-day course in Cape Coast

Cape Coast Aug. 30 GNA-Three female referees of the Central Regional Referees Association of Ghana were on Sunday honoured by the Association for exhibiting outstanding performance during a three-day refresher course at Cape Coast.

They are Ms Gloria Adjei from Agona Swedru, Ms Charity Adekpeno and Ms Mary Avornu both from Winneba.

They were presented with FIFA Fair Play Badges and Red and Yellow cards as their prizes by Mr. Samuel aye-Dankwa, Vice Chairman of the Central Regional Football Association.

Mr. Dankwa commended the referees for their excellent performance and asked them to keep it up while urging the other participants to work hard to gain promotion to the FIFA status.

Mr. Francis B. Arthur, Deputy Regional Instructor of the Association and co-ordinator of the course asked the participants to take their training seriously and be abreast with the new rules and laws of the game.

Mr. Alex K. Appiah, Regional Chairman of the Association in his closing remarks said he hoped the course would help the participants to improve upon their performance during soccer matches. The course, which was attended by 75 referees drawn from the Central Region, was aimed at up dating the skills of the participants to put up improved performances.
