Lorient Ready To Sell Or Loan Majeed Waris

Lorient president Loïc Fery has confirmed the club is ready to sell Ghana striker Majeed Waris if the right offer comes along this January transfer window.

English Premier League giants West Ham and Burnley were reported to have come close but couldn't afford to sign the Ghanaian international.

The Leigue 2 were asking for around 10m in the summer but that number should be considerably lower next month.

Waris has struggled to impress in the first half of the season with the 26-year-old making six appearances, scoring one goal and picking up one assist.

Speaking to Ouest-France, Fery said: ''His situation is different. We aren't against a departure, but it has to be a good deal for the club. We won't just accept anything.

''A loan? It depends in what conditions, and if it can help us strengthen the squad,'' he added.
