We Have Paid Black Stars B Winning Bonus - Kwesi Nyantakyi
The President of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Kwesi Nyantakyi has debunked reports in the local media alleging that the Black Stars B have not being paid after their triumph in the 2017 WAFU tournament that was hosted in the country.
Three weeks after the Black Stars B won the WAFU tournament, it was revealed by the Youth and Sports Minister that the GFA have failed to pay the player.
However, CAF 1st vice president disclosed that the $100,000 prize money given by President Akufo-Addo delayed for about three weeks before reflecting into FA account because it was a dollar account.
“The $100,000 handed to the team by HE President Akufo-Addo was paid by the Ministry of Youth and Sports into the FA account and it was a dollar cheque so it took about three weeks before reflecting into the GFA account,” Nyantakyi stated.
“Concerning the WAFU prize money, it was paid directly to the FA and I am sure it has been paid to them. The difference between the WAFU money is that it was the same bank so we received it quickly.” He added.
