Bologna Set To Sign Ghanaian Free-Agent Forward Darko Appiah

Ghanaian striker Samuel Darko Appiah has been targeted by Italian side Bologna with the view of signing him when the transfer window opens in January.

The 20-year-old, who is a former player of Italian giants Inter Milan, is a free agent after deciding to leave by mutual consent at the end of last season.

Having previously played for third-tier sides Cosenza and Giana Erminio on loan, the Ghanaian winger cum forward has been targeted by Bologna management.

Ghanasoccernet.com insiders say Bologna will meet the player and his representatives this week to decide on terms of the move.

Darko, who was born in Italy, has got EU passport that will allow him to sign for Bologna without any strain on their slots for home-based players.

However, Serie A side director, Riccardo Bigon, might be willing to sign the non-EU player, coming from a seemingly too much of a meagre pedigree indeed, just for occupying the non-EU slot reserved to a different and fancier player possibly joining next summer.
