Blame Me For Physical Trainer’s Saga – Paa Kwesi Fabian

Head coach of the Black Starlets, Paa Kwesi Fabian says has admitted that the Ghana Football Association does not know the physical trainer of the team and he should therefore be blamed for the reportage that has emerged.

Ahead of the Black Starlets preparatory tour in United Arab Emirates, it was reported that the Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi prevented Nana Osei from joining the team to UAE after working with the team for the past three months.

However, Paa Kwesi Fabian admitted that he contracted the physical trainer to help boost the physical condition of the players without informing the GFA officials.

But speaking for the first time about the incident, Paa Kwesi Fabin said he takes the blame for the mishap.

“I will like to state it clearly that no one knows Nana Osei at the Ghana Football Association, so it is not fair for him to blame anybody at the FA for his exclusion from the Starlets’ trip. I called him to help me for the players’ physical conditioning and I admit I am to be blamed for not officially informing the GFA earlier but his pronouncements are unfair.” He told Kumasi based Fox FM

“I am very sorry this has gone this far. I want to officially apologise to the FA President Nyantakyi; it is never my intention to allow Nana Osei to insult him or accuse him of any wrongdoings. The FA President does not even know him so I want everyone to know that I personally invited him to assist me and I want to apologise to Nyantakyi.

“I was only trying to help him and it fell through; it should have ended here.

Paa Kwesi Fabian also revealed some additions to the squad that won silver in Gabon during the Africa Youth Championship.

“I have added some players from West Africa Football Academy and Right to Dream who we missed on earlier. All the players who were in Gabon are still with the team.”

However, the Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide, has disclosed that government is working towards securing a physical trainer for the Black Starlets as the team currently has none.
