Man United 1-1 Swansea City: Sigurdsson rescues point after Red Devils’ fortuitous penalty

Gylfi Sigurdsson’s classy 25-yard free-kick gave Swansea City’s survival hopes a boost as they drew 1-1 at Old Trafford.

The Icelandic midfielder beat David De Gea with a well-crafted set piece on 79 minutes, leaving Paul Clement’s side in 18th and two points behind Hull.

The goal, in truth, is what City deserved as United’s goal came after a controversial penalty was awarded shortly before half-time. Marcus Rashford appeared to go down easily after Lukasz Fabianski rushed off his line and Wayne Rooney duly converted for his first Premier League goal at Old Trafford this season.
