Top Ghanaian boxing judge Eddie Pappoe among judges at Briedis versus Marco Huck fight
Renowned Ghanaian boxing judge Ataa Eddie Pappoe was one of three ring officials who scored the World Boxing Council (WBC) world title bout between Mairis Briedis and Marco Huck in Germany on Saturday night.
Eddie Pappoe, an experienced boxing referee / judge and current board member of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), watched the fight closely with two other judges from Italy – Massimo Barrovecchio and Guido Cavalleri.
On the night, Cruiserweight Briedis (22-0, 18 KOs) claimed the vacant title with a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over two-time world champion Huck (40-4-1, 27 KOs) at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund.
Pappoe is current head of the African Boxing Officials Association.
