Europa League: Substitute Frank Acheampong scores with first touch as Anderlecht win to progress

Substitute Frank Acheampong needed just one minute to announce his presence as he scored the only goal in Anderlecht's 1-0 win over APOEL Nicosia on Thursday night at home to reach the quarter-final of the Europa League.

The winger replaced Nicolae Stanciu in the 64 th  minute in a tactical substitution and that proved pivotal.

His goal ensured Anderlecht wrapped up a 2-0 aggregate win to progress to the last eight.

Compatriot Dennis Appiah played the entire duration for the Belgian league leaders.
