An unnamed North African team have been thrown out of the 2016 Gothia Cup after their players allegedly molested three 16-year-old girls at the event's opening ceremony.

The name of the youth club has been kept secret, but media reports in Sweden have indicated it was withdrawn before the start of the event.

The players were accused of harassing the young girls at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg.

Swedish police have arrested the team's manager on suspicion on sexual assault with the rest of the players under investigation.

The mother of one of the victims told the media channel: 'The men kissed the girls and a grown man shoved his tongue in my daughter's mouth.'

Ghana's Right to Dream Academy participated in the tournament but were not involved in the alleged sexual assault case.
