Medeama SC: A coach on board to end a winless streak

Medeama Sporting Club have had their dream of participating in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup this season, yet their debut course in the 'money zone' has been inauspiciously unimpressive.

The Tarkwa based side are third placed with two points from three group matches and disappointing to note is, the FA Cup winners are chasing after their first win.

Medeama need a win against bottom placed Young Africans, coached by former Medeama trainer and Dutchman, Hans van der Pluijm to aid their hopes of qualifying to the semi-finals of the competition. The Mauves and Yellows drew 1-1 with Yanga in Der es Salaam and are determined to beat the Tanzanian league champions at the Sekondi stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Coach Prince Yaw Owusu is under intense pressure as his team struggles to impress. Owusu rejoined the club after their qualification to the group stage when Tom Strand went AWOL from the team's hotel in Pretoria against Mamelodi Sundowns, leaving technical director Augustine Evans Adotey to guide the team to dreamland over the South Africans in the second leg of the final qualifier.
