Barcelona re-sign Villarreal’s Suarez

Barcelona have exercised a buy-back clause to re-sign midfielder Denis Suarez from Villarreal.

Suarez, 22, has signed a four-year contract with an option of extending it for a further year after the La Liga champions agreed to pay a £2.73m fee.

Former Manchester City player Suarez, who now has a £42.04m buyout clause, will undergo a medical on Tuesday and is set to be announced on Wednesday.

The Spain international helped Villarreal to fourth place last season.
