Ghana FA boss reveals 2006 World Cup squad standby players owed US$ 5,000 not US$ 10,000

Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has shocking revealed standby players of the 2006 World Cup finals were promised US$ 5,000 but not US$ 10,000.

Last week, one of the fringe players Yusif Alhassan Chibsah revealed the FA owed him and four others US$10,000 appearance fee.

"It's true we owe them [the five standby players]. We promised them US$ 5,000 each but not US$10,000," he told Angel FM.

"Even the 23 players were paid US$10,000 as an appearance. Their $5000 was not budgeted, it was a promise. We will pay them."

Chibsah alongside Philemon McCarthy, Aziz Ansah, Baffour Gyan and Baba Adamu were on the list as Ghana debut in Germany.
