Ayestaran confirmed as Valencia coach until 2018

Madrid, May 24, (GNA/dpa) - Pako Ayestaran has been confirmed as coach of Valencia for the next two seasons, the Spanish Liga club said Tuesday.

Ayestaran, 53, took over as caretaker coach in March from the unpopular Gary Neville and guided Los Ches away from relegation danger into 12th place.

He was assistant coach to Rafa Benitez at Valencia from 2001 to 2004, then followed Benitez to Liverpool.
