Hearts of Oak rake in record GH¢ 45 million gate proceeds from Kotoko clash

Hearts of Oak recorded the country's highest ever gate proceeds of GH¢ 45 million from the Ghana Premier League derby against rivals Asante Kotoko in Accra on Monday.

The amount is more than the GH¢ 237,700 realized in September 2013 at the Accra Sports Stadium in a Week 2 fixture.

Hearts pocket half of the amount after deductions to the National Sports Authority, VAT and 10 % of the gross amount to the Ghana Football Association

Hearts sold all 38,000 tickets which the most expensive selling for GH¢ 100 and the cheapest going for GH¢ 10.

Hearts lost 1-0 to Kotoko in the Week 10 fixture thanks an own goal from their goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama.
