Hristo Stoichkov: Messi Is A Myth

Bulgarian football superstar and Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov has said that Argentine Lionel Messi is a myth who has no class.

“Messi no longer competes with anyone, he is a myth,” Stoichkov told Barca TV.

“I doubt there will be another player like Messi. I think that it’ll be impossible for someone to overcome him,” Stoichkov added.

The Argentine footballing ‘god’ was crowned a record fifth time (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015) winner of the coveted FIFA Ballon d’Or on Monday in Zurich ahead of team mate Neymar dos Santos Silva and long term rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

Stoichkov was a twice a runner-up in the award that preceded the Ballon d’Or, losing out to Marco van Basten in 1992 and Romario in 1994, but he says Messi has no rivals for the title of best footballer in the world.
