Sulley Muntari sealed his £6.4m move to Al Ittihad on Tuesday in Jeddah

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has joined his compatriot Asamoah Gyan in the league of highest paid footballers in the world after sealing the bumper move to Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The former AC Milan ace will earn about £6.4m annually following his decision to leave the Italian giants to join the mega-rich Saudi side in a mouth-watering lucrative deal, Ghana’s leading football news outfit can confirm.

However, Muntari won’t be able to catch up on Asamoah Gyan who is Africa highest earning footballer with his £227,000 per week deal with Chinese outfit Shanghai SIPG while the latter will earn about £123,000 per week.

This will make Muntari Ghana’s second highest earning footballer while Gyan is by far sitting pretty at the top of the list with nearly twice of what Muntari will earn at the Saudi side.

Muntari is will earn £6.4m in 2015-16 following his move to Al Ittihad.

Gyan remains Africa’s highest paid footballer eclipsing the likes of Yaya Toure and Samuel Eto’o.
