Hasaacas 2-0 BA United: Basigi's substitutes earn him the plaudits

Two substitutes,Ciba Adams and Kojo  Poku scored two goals in four minutes to hand Sekondi Hasaacas the three crucial points in their 2-0 win over relegation hustlers B.A United in Sunday's match day 24 encounter.

Hasaacas intended to wrap up the result very early but hastily squandered the chances which left them biting their finger nails in the course of time.

Bulky striker for Hasmal, Frederick Quayson missed a header inside the box from Augustine Arhinful and his fellow strike partner Benjamin Eshun also failed to control a pass from Emmanuel Ankobea when the goalkeeper was almost at his mercy.

Left back Arhinful then had his 25 meter shot missing target by inches as Hasaacas piled on the pressure in quick succession.

Quayson was close again with another header this time to Andrews Agyei's throw in which had first been headed on by Eshun but the ball went off target.

Joseph Mugri then came close with a side netting effort while Eshun blew a close range shot wayward after winning the tussle from his maker.

Agyei delivered the final attempt on goal with a powerful long ranger but goalie Lawrence Osei punched it.

That meant a barren first half which left the Brong Ahafo side pepped for a possible draw at Sekondi.

The early stages of the second half was a balanced game which began to increase the despair of the home fans to their disbelief as they had thought of seeing a cruise ride over BA Utd which was fading away by the minutes.

The Apostles of Power Soccer scored a goal but were denied inexplicably by the assistant referee one Kennedy Bentsil.

Abdul Wahab came from behind to tap in a ball but Bentsil flagged the player for an offside leaving the center referee Kennedy Paddy to follow suit with a whistle blow.

The BA Utd team revolted and some fans were dumbfounded too. By this time Hasaacas were been outplayed to everybody's amazement.

Coach Yusif Basigi brought on three first team players at separate times to strengthen his team and it paid off.

Defensive midfielder,Ciba Adams neatly placed in a rebound with the inside of his foot to a dropping ball from 18 yards in the 78th minutes to break the deadlock.

The stadium erupted and Ciba run to his coach to hug him as an appreciation if not an admiration.

Hasaacas with that lead relaxed to build up for a second which came duly too as striker Kojo Poku connected a cut back pass from Eshun with a simple touch to finish at the near post from close range in the 82nd minutes.

Hasaacas showed their celebration classs and Basigi had the plaudits he deserved for his decisions.
