Erected! Cristiano Ronaldo has statue erected in his birthplace

Real Madrid player and Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has had another statue erected in his honour, this time in his birthplace Madeira in Portugal.

The World Player of the Year travelled to the Portuguese island of Madeira to pose with his family in front of the statue in the city of Funchai where there already is a CR7 museum in honour of the former Manchester United player.

Cristiano Ronaldo said:
'This is a very special moment, to have a statue of me.'

The player's mother Dolores Aveiro added:
