AC Milan want Ghana ace Michael Essien to remain at San Siro

Ac Milan have asked Michael Essien to stay with the club following growing reports over his future.

The 31-year-old joined Milan from Chelsea in January this year but  his future has already become a matter of intense speculation in the media.

Milan are hoping the Ghanaian international will see out the one year left on his contract.

Essien moved to the San Siro in January on a free transfer and made only seven appearances for the club.

He has been named in AC Milan's squad ahead of the season.
