Ghana Defender John Boye Plays First Ligue 1 Match; Fit To Start Against Zambia

Ghana defender John Boye confirmed his match fitness for Friday's all-important qualifier against Zambia after playing a cameo for Rennes in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.

The centre-back has replaced Steven Moreira after just 13 minutes as Rennes played out a 0-0 draw with Lille in Brittany.

This was his first league match of the season.
Boye was making a return from a thigh muscle strain which sidelined him for close to two weeks.

He missed last month's international friendly against Turkey in Istanbul.

Boye has been a pillar at the back for Ghana since playing at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
