Boxing : Wladimir Klitschko will face Pianeta
Wladimir Klitschko gets back in the ring.
The Ukrainian will rethread the gloves on May 4 in Mannheim (Germany). Undefeated for more than eight years in the Heavy, Vladimir Klitschko will defend his WBA / IBF / WBO heavyweight belts against the Italian, Francesco Pianeta .
“I have great respect for Francesco Pianeta, he is young (28 years, Ed) and it is difficult to face a lefty, and he also has quite a fighting spirit,” said Klitschko.
A new challenge for the “Steel Hammer” after his success against the Poles Mariusz Wach last November.
The Italian remains undefeated in official competition with a record of 28 wins and a draw. “I was temporarily his sparring partner last year and I spotted where his weaknesses were and how to best use,” said Pianeta. “I understand that many see me as an outsider, but I will throw down Klitschko and the world of boxing,” he concluded.
